Eliezer Sobel is the author of a series of some of the only books created for the Alzheimer's and dementia patient, including L'Chaim! Pictures to Evoke Memories of Jewish Life, and Blue Sky, White Clouds: A Book for Memory-Challenged Adults. He is also the author of The 99th Monkey: A Spiritual Journalist's Misadventures with Gurus, Messiahs, Sex, Psychedelics and Other Consciousness-Raising Experiments; Minyan: Ten Jewish Men in a World That is Heartbroken, winner of The Peter Taylor Prize for the Novel; and Wild Heart Dancing: A One-Day Personal Quest to Liberate the Artist and Lover Within. He is also a musician, retreat leader and teacher of the 5 RhythmsTM movement practice, and has led creativity workshops at Esalen Institute and similar venues around the U.S. He writes, "Although my business card describes my profession as 'human being,' my wife claims that I only work at it part time. It feels like overtime to me."
