Susan Carnell

Susan Carnell, Ph.D. is a Research Fellow at the New York Obesity Research Center, St Luke's Hospital, and the Institute of Human Nutrition, Columbia University. She also holds an honorary appointment at University College London, England, and is newsletter editor for the UK obesity charity Weight Concern (http://www.weightconcern.org.uk/). Dr Carnell's research focuses on the social, psychological, and biological drivers of appetite. At the moment she is studying whether people who binge eat are biologically different from 'normal' eaters. She has a special interest in the influence of parental feeding style on children's weight, and how genes and environment interact to cause child obesity.
